Pearl River County, Mississippi
The Wolf Run Mitigation Bank project is successfully improving water quality and aquatic habitats in the Wolf River Basin in Coastal Mississippi. The natural channel design project includes channel relocation and reconfiguration to create stable morphology and floodplain connection, wood toe revetments, streambank bioengineering, riparian buffer establishment, invasive plant control, and in-stream boulder and log structures for hydraulic energy management and aquatic habitat enhancement. The project provides compensatory mitigation credits to offset stream and wetland impacts in the river basin.
