Fisher River Restoration

Fisher River on county-owned park property was restored to improve water quality, aquatic habitat, and bank stability along a highway. Before the project, the incised stream was eroding and threatening a state highway and utilities.s

This project required extensive coordination with the county park, NCDOT, and a private landowner. Project outcomes include enhanced water quality and aquatic habitats in addition to infrastructure protection.
